ExoWrap Insulation System 

 ExoWrap, the "one-step" insulation system, is a simple and quick solution for insulating high-temperature surfaces in the engine rooms of ships.

ExoWrap is a revolutionary system made from biosoluble vitreous silicate fibres, reinforced by a thermally sealed aluminium foil outer wrap.

Available in tape or blanket format, ExoWrap is applied in one step, thus eliminating the need for bulky and time-consuming multi-layer insulation.

ExoWrap can be easily removed and reinstalled thanks to the adhesive ExoWrap “Silhesive” and is approved for use up to 1,000 °C maximum. 

ExoWrap can be used throughout the engine room.

Compliant with the resolution IMO MSC.61(67) and the regulation SOLAS II-2/15.2.10

ExoWrap Tape

For use on curved or flanged piping, in areas where maintenance intervention is not permitted and/or where space is limited. ExoWrap features a pressure-sensitive adhesive on the inner face to facilitate installation.

Application instructions

  • Remove any dirt, oil, scale, and excessive moisture from the surface.
  • Wrap ExoWrap around the pipe in a spiral motion with a 50% overlap to ensure good adhesion.
  • Ensure that the aluminium edges are properly secured.
  • The ends can be secured using wire or clips if necessary.

ExoWrap Blanket

For use on straight pipes, valves, exhaust equipment, turbochargers, sloped or irregular surfaces, as well as anywhere insulation is required. The ExoWrap Blankets are secured using the ExoWrap “Silhesive” to facilitate maintenance operations. Each roll of ExoWrap Blanket is supplied with a roll of ExoWrap Silhesive tape for securing.



Application instructions

  • Cut the ExoWrap Blankets to the desired size using a cutter or scissors.
  • Wrap around the surface to be insulated, joining the ends to form a seal.
  • Secure and seal the joint using the Silhesive tape.
  • To remove the ExoWrap Blanket, cut the Silhesive tape and unroll from the metal surface.
  • For reinstallation, apply a new Silhesive tape.
