PetroWrap Anti-Corrosion Tape

The anti-corrosion system PetroWrap has been developed to ensure long-lasting protection of buried, submerged or exposed metal surfaces, even in the harshest environments.

It is a cold-applied system consisting of a PetroWrap anti-corrosion tape PetroWrap based on petrolatum, a PetroWrap primer and a PetroWrap sealant.PetroWrap when irregular shapes need to be protected,

PetroWrap adheres to surfaces without heating, even on damp and/or inadequately prepared substrates.

The PetroWrap Overwrap provides additional protection when the system is likely to be subjected to physical contact.

Application

  • Steel pipes, flanges and valves
  • Welded pipe joints
  • Cooling tower piping
  • Pipe crossings
  • Tank bases
  • Sealing and waterproofing
  • Fire protection
  • Piping networks and sprinklers
  • Electrical connection boxes
  • Cable connections
  • Hydraulic pipes, valves and fittings
  • Marine piles

Specifications

  • Can be applied to surfaces brushed with a wire brush
  • Protects your metal surfaces against water, salt, alkalis and acids
  • Protects new or corroded surfaces
  • Temperature range: -40 °C to +85 °C
  • Does not crack, flake or harden
  • Non-toxic and environmentally friendly

The PetroWrap system

A. PetroWrap Primer Paste is a preparatory primer that drives out moisture, neutralises oxides and fills small irregularities on the surface intended to be wrapped with PetroWrap anti-corrosion tape.

B. PetroWrap Mastic is a cold-applied mastic used as a filling product. It helps to level surfaces before applying the tape, facilitating the wrapping of contours at pipe joints, flanges, bolts and other irregular shapes to be protected with PetroWrap anti-corrosion tape.

C. PetroWrap Anti-Corrosion Tape is made of a non-woven synthetic fabric, stitched together, fully impregnated with neutral petroleum-based compounds and inert fillers.

D. PetroWrap OverWrap is a robust adhesive tape with a thickness of 12 mm. It is available in widths of 50 mm and 100 mm.
